On the November 5th, 2024 edition of Midday Maryland, Carrie Cox, Burn Outreach Coordinator at Johns Hopkins Bayview, shares important holiday safety tips with host, Elsa.
Remember to keep the kitchen a kid and pet free zone to prevent accidental spills of hot foods or liquids. When celebrations are happening, set reminders to check the stove and oven while cooking.
When shopping for a Christmas Tree, check the needles for freshness and water daily.
If a burn does occur, run the area with cool water for 10 minutes and seek care at a burn center (Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for children and Bayview Adult Burn Center for those 15 years old and up).
